Kabali Mania

Rajinikanth’s most awaited 159th film, Kabali, has already created sensation with the promotions across the globe. For promoting the film, Air Asia makers designed their aircraft with Kabali poster and flying the Superstar?s fans to Chennai for the premier. Muthoot Finance is the associate sponsor of Kabali and it has joined the bandwagon by issuing silver coins with the embossed image of Rajinikanth along with the tagline ‘Carry The Lucky Superstar With You’.  The financing company is also giving away 3D posters, mobile pouches, and T-shirts with Rajinikanth?s image.

Within one day, the teaser of the film got 400,000 views on YouTube and it has received many appreciations for Superstar’s dialogue delivery, especially “Kabali Da”.  Action scenes in the movie are expected to engross the viewers.  The teaser has certainly raised goosebumps among the fans, setting new expectations. In Chennai, few companies have declared holiday to their employees, a luxury that is only possible for Superstar?s fans.

The movie songs are already on everybody’s mind and trending on YouTube with thousands of views.  It has grossed earnings from the pre-release business including distribution rights, satellite rights and audio rights.

Rajinikanth’s last film Linga was not impressive and failed at the box office, after which superstar Rajinikanth had struggled and had to put extra efforts into the making of Kabali. The movie released on July 22nd in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages, was directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by the Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations.

Radhika Apte is sharing screen space with Rajinikanth as the female protagonist in the film.  Dinesh Ravi and Nassar are supporting actors and have a crucial role in the film. In the movie, we see Rajinikanth as an actor – not a showman performing tricks that have gone stale over years.

Rajinikanth has portrayed two different roles in the film – one is vintage Kabali and the other as a don Kabaleeswaran in the most stylish look again with a beard and wearing a suit, which suits him well in the film. This second role as a don reminds us the blockbuster movie ‘Baasha’, which also had him play as a gangster in the movie. Dhansika portrays as daughter to ?Kabali?, who runs school and helps children who are affected by gang wars.

Makers have shot most of the film in Malaysia. It is the biggest release during the second half of the year 2016 in Kollywood, Tollywood and Bollywood. Kabali was premiered at Le Grand Rex in Paris on July 21st, and there is a post on the official Facebook page of Le Grand Rex that says “so much to tell you that we have rarely seen an atmosphere too incredible! If the fans of Stars Wars, and those of Rajinikanth were gathered for the same film, I think the Rex would never survive.”.

It is worth noting that Kabali is the first South Indian film to release in the Hawaii state of USA. Cine Galaxy got the US distribution rights and has confirmed the Regal Dole Cannery movie hall which is located in Hawaii. But more importantly, it is the first South Indian film to release in 60 countries, and undoubtedly Kabali will be another milestone in the Superstar?s career.
