Questions & Answers (Q&A)

Is the competition open to anyone? Is there an age limit?

Yes, the competition is open to anyone and there is no age limit.

Are multiple submissions by a candidate allowed?

A candidate may submit multiple drawings to increase his or her chances of winning. However, the candidate must pay the equivalent entry fee for such submissions. For instance, if you would like to submit three drawings, you need to pay a total of three times of Rs.100 (i.e. Rs.300).

Should the entry fee for multiple submissions be paid all at once? Or can a candidate pay the entry fee for second or third articles later at the time of their submission?

It is best to decide upfront on the number of drawings you are going to submit and pay the equivalent entry fee all at once. If you have paid entry fee for only one drawing after registration, and then decide to pay entry fee for more drawings at a later time, you may still do so before the payment due-date.

You are organizing three competitions (Article Writing, Drawing and Photo) at the same time with the same due-dates. Can a candidate participate in more than one competition?

Yes, a candidate may participate in more than one competition by paying the corresponding entry fee for each competition.

Can siblings or members of the same family submit articles?

Yes, siblings or members of the same family may submit drawings. However, each sibling (or family member) should have his or her individual registration and pay the required entry fee.

How are you going to validate that a candidate’s drawing is genuinely his/her submission, and was not done with the assistance of his/her relative, friend or affiliate who is an expert at drawing?

Participating candidates must ensure propriety during this competition. While it is not very uncommon to take some high-level advice or guidance during such online competitions, all candidates must ensure that they draw/paint by themselves and not seek the assistance of others during the drawing/painting process.

What are the criteria for evaluation of submitted drawings/paintings?

Evaluation will be based on the following features of your drawing/painting – originality, message conveyed, humour, sentiment, dramatic impact, effect on human beings (or animals, plants, nature, etc.), futuristic scenario, retrospective thinking, or a combination thereof.

Do the candidates need to follow any specific standard (or style) when painting/drawing?

We are not proposing any specific standard (or style) for drawing/painting.  We are aware there are different standards, and candidates may choose the standards they are comfortable with. The evaluation criteria mentioned above does not include adherence to a specific standard or style.

I was one of the winners of Drawing Competition conducted by IndianFolk.com last year. Can I participate in this competition too?

Yes, you may participate.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and second wave, would you expect candidates to submit their drawing on this topic?

This competition is primarily a drawing competition rather than a subject-based competition. Thus, candidates may draw on any topic mentioned earlier in the document. It need not necessarily relate to COVID-19. If you draw on COVID-19, it’s fine as this topic relates to Health & Wellness, which is one of the topics mentioned earlier in the document.

Can the candidates submit previously submitted drawings/painting for other competitions, examinations, websites, mobile app, newspapers or magazines?

You cannot submit a drawing/painting that was previously submitted for another competition, external examination, website, mobile app, newspaper or magazine. However, if you had submitted drawing/painting after January 1, 2021 for the purpose of internal (i.e. class, grade or section) test/examination specific to your school, college or institution, you may submit such drawing/painting assuming it wasn’t published on any website, mobile app, newspaper or magazine.

After submitting a drawing for this competition, can a candidate submit the same drawing for another competition, publication, or blog?

Top three prize winners: The candidate may post the same drawing on his/her personal blog, social media account, or school/college/university publication. However, the candidate is not expected to submit the same drawing to another competition or a commercial/ NGO publication.

Other candidates: The candidates that don’t win a prize may submit their drawings to other competitions, publications or blogs.

Can candidates outside India, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, internationals or non-Indian citizens participate in this competition?

Yes, anyone can participate in this competition. However, the entry fee must be paid in Indian Rupees or US Dollars only as the website doesn’t accept other currencies.

Can text or poems be included in the drawing/painting?

It is fine to include text, statements, or poems in the drawing/painting, if the candidate thinks that it would have a higher impact. Such text, statements or poems may be in English, Hindi, regional Indian languages or any other language that the candidate is familiar with.

After registration and payment of entry fee, can a candidate ask for the refund of entry fee and not participate in the competition?

We recommend all candidates to be very sure about participating in the competition before they pay the entry fee. Due to the costs involved on our end in managing the registrations, payments, and evaluations, we can’t refund the entry fee whether you submit the article or not.

What should a candidate do in case he or she faces technical difficulties in submitting the drawing online?

We haven’t encountered any cases in the past where there was any technical issue in submitting the drawing online. We generally recommend all participating candidates submit their drawings at least one day or several hours before the due date & time. If at all you face any technical difficulty when submitting the drawing, please call us at the numbers mentioned below and we will address them immediately.
